Samarkand Regional Museum of Local Lore
Samarkand Regional Museum is located in a picturesque corner of the city, its exposition is housed in an old mansion, built in the early XX century by the famous architect E.O.Nelle. The mansion once belonged to the merchant guild I Kalantarova Abram.
The interior decoration of the building combines European and Central Asian styles. Construction and decoration of the mansion by famous masters: Usto Hafiz, usto Kamol, usto Sodiq, usto Shamsi and others. Especially brightly and colorfully trimmed mehmonhona - Living. Here magnificent carved wooden ceiling, painted with oil, the walls are decorated ganch in "pardoz" style. Festive lace stucco gratings "pandjara" perfectly with the bright stained-glass windows ... This eclectic tastes corresponded to the home owner - one of the recognized leaders of the community of Bukharian Jews of Samarkand.
