Bukhara Regional Museum of Local Lore
In 1983, the Bukhara Museum was awarded the status of a state museum-reserve. At present, there are more than 25 thousand exhibits in the collections of the museum-reserve. The composition of the museum includes 5 departments:
1. Department of history consists of three expositions
а) Exposition of Bukhara writing
b) Exposition of antiquity and the Middle Ages.
c) Exposition of the Bukhara khanate / emiratsva.
2) Department of Numismatics and epigraphy.
3) The Department of Archeology consists of two parts:
а) Exposition of archaeological study of Bukhara oasis.
b) Exposition "Returned masterpieces of Bukhara".
4) Department of Nature.
5) Department of modern history and ethnography consists of two expositions:
а) Department of Military and Equestrian Equipment of Bukhara Emirate,
b) Department of Ethnography and Life of Citizens.
Museum artifacts_ gold earrings of the Sogdian princess (II century BC), kita - a sample of calligraphy (XII century), silver coins of the Chagatai ulus (Tarmashirin- year of coining 1323, Kebekkhan- year of coining 1333), monumental image from Bukharhudat palace-Varakhsha (VII century), the image of a cheetah from Uch-kulakh (VIIc), the coronation dressing gown of Emir Khaidar (embroidered in 1800), the general's dressing gown of Emir Alimkhan, Burka - the veil of Kaaba (1915), etc.
